As we approach the end of the year, the Annual Santa Hunt will this time take place at Hassockrigg.
We are lucky to be able to use such a site as this old shale bing, which is still relatively new to most our club members – and each time we go there is something different – whether that be new tracks created and opened up, or bigger ditches emerged after having Exercise Mudmaster through the site, it is always good fun, with lots of different areas to explore!
This is not a winch challenge or timed event, you will simply be enjoying yourself with some good off-roading whilst on the look out for Santa(s).
Any Santa that you do find, can be exchanged for edible prizes!
This is always a popular event, great to bring the kids and rest of the family out too… you WILL need the extra sets of eyes!
In addition to this, there will be a variety of orienteering punches set up around the site, for you to attempt. You will be given a laminated card attached to your wing mirror, and upon finding a punch, you simply punch the corresponding box on the card – easy!!
Cost: £30 per vehicle plus £10 per additional driver (full DVLA licence)
Time: 09.30 for morning coffee and chat, ready to start at 10.00
Lunch: Bring your own packed lunch and enough warm drinks for the full day!
Finish: We generally finish mid-afternoon depending on weather and light conditions.
Directions: exit the M8 at J5, through the staggered crossroads, follow the road towards Shotts, site is approx. 1 mile on your right hand side. Nearest Postcode is ML7 5TQ.
