Largo TYRO & Trials – 17th July 2021

We move this month to our site at Largo, which is a massive hit with everyone that attends, offering some breathtaking scenery whether it’s over the Fife countryside or out onto the Firth of Forth. With 3 completely different areas on the site ; “valley” “ski-slope” and “plateau”, we are able to offer you a good range of challenging sections throughout the day, usually finishing off with a trip to the trig point for a photo opportunity.

Slightly different from our usual Trials event, where this time we will also be running a TYRO, so this is an opportunity to bring along the other half who’s interested in trying the off-roading out, but too scared to go over any of the ‘scary stuff’, or for those with a new shiny ‘showroom’ vehicle. They are also suitable for drivers from 13yrs+ so long as they are accompanied by a fully licenced driver.

To find out what our trials consist of and to help you decide which one you may be better suited to , please visit these pages below or get in touch!

Trials Guide

Registration will open as soon as we have the permits in place, and close 48hrs before the event, to allow us to make a decision whether the event runs based on a minimum number attending. Please make sure to let us know whether you are entering the TYRO or the TRIAL on the event form!

Officials, whether setting up or marshaling will also need to register with the electronic signing on declaration before the event.

You must have a valid club membership which can be obtained online via Join SORC

If you wish to compete, you must also have a valid RS Clubman Licence which can be obtained free via RS Clubman Licence

Both of these will be checked against the membership database upon receiving your online entry and declaration form.

Number of people (including competitors and officials combined) will be limited to 30 person maximum (as per current guidelines).

Events are effectively being run behind “closed doors”, meaning no spectators (unless they are from the same household as the driver).

Only competitors, event organisers and signed on marshals will be allowed on each site.

There will be hand sanitiser available for use at the event.

Social distancing must be adhered to at all times, including during the drivers briefing, scrutineering, walking the courses, and at lunchtime.

If you wish to have a second driver, from out with your own household, then you both must be able to prove a negative lateral flow test taken before the event and must also wear a mask whilst you are both in the vehicle. If you want to discuss a second driver, please contact our Covid Officer, Graham Somerville at scotorc@gmail.com before you submit an entry!

Access will only be available from 0930hrs with the view to starting promptly at 1000hrs.

There will be a maximum of 50 persons (competitors and officials combined) allowed on the site.
